Waterfall/Pond

My grandparents both turn 80 this year and my grandma has been asking for a waterfall/pond for the past couple of years. They already have a natural rock wall so we decided to start it and see what we could do. My thought is always that we can at least try it, how hard could it be. We started by getting books at the library and looking at different pictures of what my grandma wanted. I did not realize that having the existing wall was going to be more of a crutch than helpful. We did have to try a few different things but eventually got it how we wanted. It is not exactly how she wanted it in the beginning but with each change that had to be made she liked it. It took a total of a couple months with me going there once a week so in all not too many days. I am very pleased with the end result and am glad that I now know how to build one. Last week I used the rototiller to amend the soil, added some new soil and laid sod and beauty bark. My grandparents called me yesterday to tell me that they have already had a party and everyone loved it! I'm glad that they can sit outside and hopefully enjoy for the last few weeks of summer!
